We are pleased to introduce Mikheil Tavberidze, Consultant and Manager at OMNIA, with 25 years of experience in the power sector across Georgia and the Caucasus region

Mikheil holds two BSc degrees from Georgian Technical University in Civil Engineering and Energy Sector Management and an MEd from Tbilisi University of Language and Culture.

He has held expert and senior management positions, playing a key role in power sector reforms in Georgia, including the implementation of the Balancing Market and the Georgian Wholesale Public Service. His experience spans sector planning, market operations, regional cooperation, renewable energy initiatives, and cross-border electricity trade.

Selected project highlights include:

- Georgia: Developing operational and financial frameworks for the Georgian Wholesale Public Service Organisation, market integration mechanisms for renewable energy, and strengthening TSO regulatory and planning capacity.

- Azerbaijan: Designing comprehensive market rules for power sector reforms, supporting the transition to deregulated spot, bilateral, and ancillary services markets.

- Baltic Countries: Supporting three Baltic TSOs in creating IT solutions for the Balancing Capacity Market, ensuring compliance with European rules and synchronisation with continental Europe.

Mikheil brings a wealth of practical experience in power market design, renewable integration, and cross-border electricity trade, and we are excited to have him share his expertise with participants at the Seasonal School.
